My Thoughts
As the media is covering the road to the 2016 US Presidential Election, children may begin to ask questions about the President and their role. The story, When Penny Met POTUS, is a great book for teachers and parents to engage children in with an interactive read aloud. Elementary school teachers can use it to support grade-level curricula that teaches their students about the United States’ government. Meanwhile, parents can read the playful story with their children to open up a discussion about our country’s leaders and how you can be anything you want to be if you set your heart to it. As a teacher, I plan to use the story as one of the resources that will be available to my students when they teach younger children from our buddy classroom about the upcoming election. Order this book today! Don’t forget to share how you are using it to teach children.
